Rhyming books

Early language development is based on rhythm and rhyme. Babies learn to babble by mimicking theĀ sounds they hear from peopleĀ around them. Books containing lots of rhyme can stimulate this progress. The rhythm and patterns of speech are so embedded in nursery rhymes and quality childrens literature that children can’t help but soak it all in.

Children also learn pre-reading and writing skills through listening to stories being read aloud to them. They hear sounds that make up words and look at the combinations of the sounds in written word.
